Faith in Action

Wow - this week has been a tricky one! Thank you so much to those of you who were willing to share a very personal topic with the rest of us.

Friday's have been action days around here. I found it tough to come up with an action -- pray more, go to church? None of that seemed like something that I could incite action on. Instead, I am going to post a few items of action that have special meaning and are tied to faith in my heart. If you would like to take those actions? Great. If not, feel free to post a "faith action" in the comments or on your blog. Get our minds thinking!

The San Diego Blanket Project. This project might be right up the alley of many of you crafty people. This group is collecting 8 inch squares of fabric to be made into quilts for many of those still suffering from the California wildfired. Check out the link, to me, faith includes being there for people in need, people in danger. (Thanks Sean for the link and idea).

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. For those of you who know me in real life, you probably now that this is one of my biggest personal issues. I am furious with our treatment of veterans and soldiers. These brave men and women (and their families) sacrifice so significantly for all of us. Do not forget them. My prayer for them:

'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need... Amen.'

If these two acts of faith don't trip your trigger - blog about what does.

These are both great ideas, Ang, but since I have the holidays on the brain I always think of the hungry this time of year and will be making lots of extra stops at our food banks.

I believe that pulling people out of poverty and hunger are cornerstones not just of my faith, but our country.

Loved this week, was disappointed to see a drop in posters, but I loved pushing myself. Thanks so much girls, you did a great job!!

I figure the drops in posters is my fault. No one likes it when a boy shows up. Don't worry Ladies - this will be my last week participating in the alter ego stuff.
