What happened?

I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me, I'd like to be the help that you've been always glad to be; I'd like to mean as much to you each minute of the day, as you have meant old friend of mine, to me along the way.

I used to be the kind of person that bought enough cards to keep Hallmark in business. I remembered every important event (birthdays, anniversaries, holidays) and was conscious of when people might need a little cheering up.

Somewhere along the line I unlearned this good habit. If your birthday has been anywhere in the past--I don't know--year or so, I probably did not send you a card. I might have remembered to call, but it was probably weeks after your actual birthday.

So, I will try to re-commit myself to remembering to send a card.

Don't, you just make the rest of us who can barely remember their own anniversary look bad.
