A Thing of Beauty

"I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong." Buckminster Fuller

When I quit my job to be a stay at home mom people used to ask me if I would miss "using my brain." Little do they know that being a mom of a three year-old involves more problem-solving than, well, most jobs. For instance, how do you find more cheese, when there is no more cheese? However, being a mom means that the solution is usually beautiful, big smiles, and more cheese!

So today when you are dragging through the drudgery and scrambling for solutions, take a minute and try to make them beautiful ones.

  1. Yep, there's nothing like motherhood to bring out those creative juices.

(And we aren't even going into the challenges of school age math problems!)

  2. I have always been a fan of making the ordinary beautiful. That is why I love to use real dishes, not paper plates!
