Wednesday: Age is. . .

I'm not interested in age. People who tell me their age are silly. You're as old as you feel.
----Elizabeth Arden

Lots of age going on around me lately. . .
a friend turned 30 on Monday.
we celebrated my uncle's 50th birthday on Friday.
I'm in a class with many people who are a lot older than me.

I'm not real excited about getting older, but I don't think that age is anything more than you make it. Whether I'm 27 or 72, I still have the same personality. I think the same morals and values will still be important to me. I hope, though, that I really feel like I've lived. I hope to have volumes and volumes of experiences that I've collected throughout my life.

What's changed as you've aged?
How has the pace you live your life changed as you age?
What do you want to be like when you're older?

Wow this is great food for thought.
Well getting old to me is a state of mind, although my body wants to kick me and remind me of the chronological age. At 52 I find I enjoy life more and more every day. I treasure each day. My pace remains full steam ahead. I don't want to miss a moment, an adventure, or a second with those who make my life what it is. I have girl-friends of all ages, and the best friends are my daughters who are 31 and 28, along with my DH of 33 years. Life is ONLY what YOU MAKE OF IT!! When my time on Earth is done I want to slam into the wall saying, "Damn! That was a great ride." I only hope my next 52 years are as good.I'm trying to make me a more healthy person so I can age with the best of them.
Thanks for such a great topic.

I hope I can look back and think I made the most of it - but I wonder does everyone have some regrets...we wouldn't be human otherwise? I think it's important to live in the moment and appreciate things at the time, rather than in a look back kind of way....? My favourite saying is to my DH - 'Haven't we a great time?!' even when we're doing little things like going to the beach....living in the moment. We have a great time.
