Perspective

"Children nowadays are tyrants. They contradict their parents, gobble their food and tyrannise their teachers."
-----Socrates

I've been working with some children lately that have been pushing me to ask difficult questions about what is happening with manners and respect in today's youth. I think I may even have used the phrase "When I was a kid. . . " in trying to sort through the whole big mess.

(The little old lady in me was screaming through loud and clear!)

Socrates put it right back in perspective for me, though. Older generations have been thinking these thoughts about younger generations for thousands of years. Guess I should just stop whining.

A nice reminder on a day where I dread going to my classroom and facing these "tyrants". Hopefully today will be a day where they prove to be 'angels'.

I think this is one of the main reasons we can be friends...my grandma always said that I was a little old lady from the day I was born. :)
