I'm so bad at picking just one... Life can be wildly tragic at times, and I've had my share. But whatever happens to you, you have to keep a slightly comic attitude. In the final analysis, you have got not to forget to laugh. --Katherine Hepburn
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. -Martin Luther King, Jr.
The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself. -Anna Quindlen
And one of my personal favorites... If you can plant yourself in stillness long enough, you will, in time, experience the truth that everything (both uncomfortable and lovely) does eventually pass. - Elizabeth Gilbert in Eat, Pray, Love
These quotes all say something about my life in this past year.
These are two of my favorites...I have them posted on my blog. They are my favorites because they speak about my life right now...
"God could not be everywhere and therefore he created mothers." (Jewish Proverb)
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
Quotes are great...I have so many that I like and my favorite changes based on what I am going through or dealing with...but those two are consistently at the top of my list.
Here a few of my faves from my quote file I keep on my computer. Thanks, by the way, for all the great quotes that I’ve found on your site since I discovered it.
“There is a gigantic difference between earning a great deal of money and being rich.” --Marlene Dietrich, Marlene Dietrich’s ABC
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson.
"The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity." - Margaret Nadauld
“No one knows what tomorrow will bring—so why shouldn’t we try?” --80-year-old woman after auditioning for America’s Got Talent
I'm a bit late coming by to say good-bye to you. Sorry to see this end. I find it hard to believe that you will not be blogging in the future, so when you get the urge and start something new, please update me!! My favorite quote was from the very first week (it got me hooked on your blog). It is this one: "One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries". -A. A. Milne This quote reflects exactly who I am and how I live my life! Thanks for a great year. -shari schneider luvs2design@aol.com www.creativechatter.blogspot.com
